OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:

It is our great pleasure to formally announce the merger of the oldest
INXS internet site, An Excess of INXS (http://inxsweb.com), with the most popular European INXS fan site, Welcome to Wherever You Are (http://www.inxs.ch).

The new INXS fan site will be run jointly by webmasters Neil Kothari
and Mario Ferrari under the existing moniker of "An Excess of INXS"
at http://inxsweb.com.

The internet has exploded in popularity and growth over the past few years. It is nearly impossible in this day and age for a well-run site to be managed by just one person, especially when that individual has many other commitments. In creating this alliance, it is the hope that the new website will be able to more effectively serve its target audience: INXS fans around the world.

As fans have come to expect, the new site will continue the winning traditions that made the original sites so successful. Such popular features as the latest INXS news and the most definitive discography in existence will continue, but within a beautiful and attractive new layout and graphic scheme. Other areas of the site will include pictures, biographies, media, tour dates, a chat room and message board, among other planned pages.

The new site will launch in the near future (target date May 2000) once appropriate legal permissions and copyright approval have been obtained.

Background History:

"An Excess of INXS"
began in 1993 by Neil Kothari as an offshoot of the INXS Email List. In the last 7 years, it has grown exponentially in content and popularity, and become the INXS site of choice for many INXS fans. The website has been the recipient of numerous awards over the years, and has featured exclusive interviews with Tim Farriss and Kirk Pengilly in the past.

"Welcome To Wherever You Are" started in late 1997 by Mario Ferrari to address the dearth of information about INXS in Europe. The first event was a radio interview with Michael Hutchence, kindly provided by a local Swiss radio station, on the occasion of INXS' appearance at the St. Gallen Festival. In November 1998 the site became the official webpage for Michael's memorial service with content provided by Kell Hutchence and Dennis Patterson. Mario is also well known for his design and maintenance of the award-winning Michael Hutchence Memorial Site (http://www.michaelhutchence.org), launched in October 1999.
