I wanted to take this time to thank all of you who wished us luck out here in California. It is scary seeing your towns go down due to fire (from a hunter who got lost and shot off a flare gun!) I know of two people who have family who lost their homes. Take care all. Laurie P.S. I have been hearing INXS in stores lately! Very cool. I also heard INXS in a bar - I went to a Halloween Party there and someone played it from the jukebox! Now if only we can put MTV or VH-1 on to see INXS videos!!! But I have read several discussions about it on a couple of different message boards. I found the discussions to be disturbing. They turned into that same old Paula/Bob bashing thing, and I just don't have much tolerance for that. If you read the book, let me know what you think, if you can do it diplomatically. :-) Deirdre From: "Kelly Koczkur" To: Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 7:27 PM Subject: INXS: The Real Michael Hutchence - I'm Just a Man Well I'm 2/3rds of the way through, it's quite interesting and I've had a hard time putting it down but I think this is mostly because I've never really read much on the band or Michael before. The book is about his life through his mom's and sister's memories of all the events up to his death (where I am right now). I find it quite an in depth insight, but not knowing these people personally I'm just staying intrigued by reading. It so far hasn't had anything to hold my interest, as Just a Man did. I loved the stories Tina and Patricia had to tell. There are some who always repute that, but I don't know why. This(Just a Man) was written by his own flesh and blood. I guess we all have our own ideas, and as we are just fans , we really have no say as to anything , really! Long time no speak to a lot of you... Hope all is well with you all. I have come out of hiding and decided to do this after much debate. I decided to keep up with Holiday tradition, I guess you could say. What would it be, if we didn't have the Christmas card exchange? So, for those of you who don't know what it is... I will explain it as best as I can... I will be collecting addresses up until November 30th. This date is the FINAL date that I will be collecting addresses. The list of addresses will be collected and what you have to do is send Christmas cards to EVERYONE on the list. EVERYONE on the list will also send Christmas cards to you as well. In years past, we've had huge turn outs. Why not do it again? It's a lot of fun and you get to see cards from all over the world. I must make this statement clear... This is not a list for E-MAIL CARDS. This list will be for snail mail cards only. It gets too confusing between e-mail cards and snail mail cards. Okay, so if you have any questions, PLEASE e-mail me PRIVATELY with subject line: CHRISTMAS CARD ? or CHRISTMAS CARD LIST if you want to join... my e-mail address is: dutchie08@aol.com Please do not post your address to the list!!! Thank you, hope to hear from you soon! It was very touching and I think Tina and her mom captured the point that he was "just a man" who was their brother and son. I have some questions now about what happened after. I know Paula commited suicide. What happened to Tiger after and how did Bob Geldoff end up with custody of her? You have a week left to sign up for the Christmas card exchange list. I am still taking names, but after November 30th, I will not. This will give everyone a good amount of time to get the cards out since we have people from Europe and Australia signed up. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at dutchie08@aol.com Thanks again everyone, take care... GET IT!!! The upgrade in sound quality on any middle range surround sound system (or higher for that matter :)) is awesome. You can hear everything on the stage. The difference is evident from the first time Jon hits the drum pad, but even more so when he counts in Guns In the Sky. It's a surreal blast that makes the studio mix of Guns in the Sky on the Kick album seem quite pedestrian (relative). The rest is better. And the bonus track Lately, they really picked the wrong song for all the cameras to fun out of film on, but the way they have doctored footage from the concert makes a fitting tribute to Michael. Well lately you look around you wonder what you're doin... MK Talon From: To: Sent: Tuesday, November 25, 2003 9:42 AM Subject: INXS: 5 days left! According to music mogul Pete Waterman, who masterminded the early stages of Kylie's career, he and fellow producer Mike Stock came up with the pop tune when they heard she'd left her Neighbours soap opera co-star Jason Donovan for the wild rock star. Pete recalls, "I was telling Mike Stock, who was a genius at taking ideas and making them work, that Kylie Minogue had stopped seeing Jason Donovan and gone off with Michael Hutchence - and how it was better the devil you know, because we thought our lives were going to be hell as a consequence."
