To anyone has discography information on the new Michael Hutchence release, "Spill the Wine" from Barbwire, please send me everything you have so that the updates can be entered! This includes record label, matrix (catalog) numbers, etc. Thanks much, -neil PS - Oh yeah, also - why does INXS feel Bob Clearmountain to be somewhat dated? For the past few months, I've been listening to Tori Amos' new CD non-stop, and lo and behold - several of the tracks were mixed by none other than Clearmountain (including the singles "Caught a Lite Sneeze" and "Talula"). Pretty new sounding to me... PPS - Anyone see a 30minute advertising show on TV called "Remembering the 80's"? It's for a 6CD set of 80s music... And our very own INXS' Need You Tonight is featured on one of the discs... The stageset that they were using also had INXS emblazoned on the back, along with loads of other bands that were huge in the 80's. It was pretty amusing I suppose. Hey - if any of you have the CD (Awesome 80s) - send me the discog information for it. Thanks again. I found a copy a couple of weeks ago here in the states and a few people here told me to go for it. It cost 26.99. I figured what the hell, and got it. I did not regret it at all. Perhaps you might want to look into on online music store, such as CDNow, or CD Connection to see what kind of deal you could get thru them. I looked thru their selections for INXS but can't recall whether they had the Japan cd. It's a great cd to add to your collection. All the remixes are great. That cd would go for anywhere from $24-$32 (in $US) if you dealt with a reputable cd retailer or mailorder company. It is a Japanese import, hense the higher price. I THINK I heard it was recently reissued for the European market, anyone across the pond who can confirm this? You can send any of these files as an attachment to you e-mail message. But be careful to whom you send them to. I sent images to this list once and got reamed by AOLers because of the size of message. I am not certain, but they may possibly pay a e-mail charge based on the size of the message. Just incase you ever have an urgent need. The only thing I can add to all this (since I don't have easy access to a scanner) is that I have L-view. This is so true and I have to wonder if not releasing these singles in the US is what's hurting the band in the US. I know this is a Black Grape song but how many other times have we heard that Europe has an interview with INXS or Europe has a single that isn't released in the US. He mixes the albums for Dave Matthews Band, Live, and my favourite Christian Rock group, Newsboys! FYI= Newsboys is another wonderful band from down under! They really rock! If anybody should open for inxs when they go on concert, it's these guys! Anyway...I live in Chicago, and the radio stations here seldomely play inxs, and when they do, it's usually "Need you Tonight." It's a great song, don't get me wrong, but they have other good songs too. Another thing that I must admit, is that FMDH wasn't that great of an album, espically since they put out WTWYA the year before. (WTWYA is my absolute favourite album of theirs), and FMDH was an extreeme let down. I'm glad to hear that their next album is due in September. Sorry I rambeled on a bit, but when I enter something, I'm usually known for making a big entrence. :-) Doug 0- Date: Mon, 13 May 1996 09:40:23 +1000 (EST) X-Sender: p2103198@pop3.unsw.edu.au To: inxs-list@iastate.edu From: P2103198@unsw.edu.au (Tracy Nash) Subject: Opinions, opinions, opinions. FMDH is my favourite album. It is right up there with LLT. Make Your Peace, Cut Your Roses Down, The Gift and Please have to be the greatest songs that INXS have EVER done. A let down??? Never. Nothing these guys has ever done has been a let down to me. Oh, maybe except Men And Women (sorry Mike). Im not saying they are perfect, but pretty close. As for a line-up change. I would weep and sob for days, but still buy the albums, go to the concerts, wear the t-shirts and pine after Mike. And the INTERESTING FREE OFFER 12k mail thingo. Ive posted the thing to TOSEmail1 the last four times and they send me out a piece of mail saying they'll look into it. I think they are lying. I looked up Jenny Conroy (the last sender) on WhoWhere? and she wasn't on there. Jeanne Conroy, yes, but not Jenny. Not that this means anything. A wedding? Sigh. My chances with Mike are at last futile. Heavenly Herani Hutchence. HHH, how cute. I would have gone for Cecilia Ashley Susan Hutchence (CASH), myself. Har har. I was thinking about him recently when I was reading the credits for the Tommy Lee/Pamela Lee single on the Barb Wire soundtrack. If I'm not mistaken, he does the mixing for Motley Crue. I thought he did it for Def Leppard too, but I couldn't find his names in the credits for the CDs I have. Anyways, I've seen his name before, and I believe it was heavier bands that I saw it for. This is why none of the return addresses are checking out. Whoever is doing this is always using a different screen name. Sender: owner-inxs-list@iastate.edu Reply-To: SNP3@aol.com i was thinking--inxs would sound killer trying a sort of california "surfer rock" sound. not the hokey stuff, but the grittier style, like on the pulp fiction soundtrack. hutchy could lay some funky leonard cohen type vocals over it too! anyone agree with me, or want me drawn and quartered? :) just a thought... -josh From: KatFarriss@aol.com Date: Fri, 31 May 1996 22:07:15 -0400 To: inxs-list@iastate.edu Subject: Re: surf rock inxs? There is a limited edition cd with special packaging (a tall gatefold affair with a color silk screened cd and booklet) that was frequently available, but I don't think this is what he means. Mysterious. Any clues? Cheers, M
